The Orange County, California Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) hosted Fiesta Navidad December 1st, the Organization’s annual Holiday Luncheon and toy drive.  Over 150 of Orange County’s most revered multi-cultural housing advisors and advocates enjoyed authentic Mexican cuisine, professionally staged group photography and a performance by professional vocalist Anne Bates.

Bernadette Medrano of the Santa Ana Education Foundation was in attendance to formally accept over 500 unwrapped toys donated by OC NAHREP members and guests to underprivileged children of local families.  A live auction benefitted the El Viento Foundation’s Climb for Kids, headed by Joe Chairez, Partner at Baker Hostetler, LLP.  Chairez thanked Orange County NAHREP for a warm send off as he was in preparation during the luncheon for his December 20th departure to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro for Climb for Kids.

In an OC Metro article featuring his efforts with El Viento, Chairez shared El Viento’s strengths “aimed at teaching kids how to set goals, make commitments and plans to attain those goals.”

“These are not unlike our own strengths,” shared OC NAHREP President John Macias.  “We serve our industry as a foundation for practitioners to set goals for their clients and to attain these goals by increasing sustainable Hispanic homeownership opportunities within the Orange County community.”

The action packed Orange County NAHREP 2010 Calendar of Events circulated and membership grew by 15% during the luncheon, with many Real Estate practitioners eager to join the NAHREP movement taking shape both nationally and within their own community.

“We will grow to over 500 members in Orange County next year,” promised President John Macias.  “We will work with organizations like AREAA (the Asian Real Estate Association of America) and NAREB (the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, comprised of African American real estate professionals) to empower Real Estate practitioners like you to serve our diverse community.  And, we will serve as a voice for the Orange County Latino community as we promote equal access to homeownership for all Americans.”
