January 2010 proved to be an explosive start to 2010 for our organization. We met early morning on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the beautiful Hyatt Regency in Irvine. A line began to form by 8:15 AM and both members and Leaders in our Industry now interested in NAHREP in Orange County filed in to the Hyatt’s largest event room, Salon C, which was soon packed. Power Networking ensued over coffee and pastries with strong introductions being made and business cards flying. Though the room was filled with OC NAHREP members, we welcomed many new faces to the crowd.
President John Macias kicked off the event by asking all members to stand. It was difficult to see those seated in the sea of proud OC NAHREP constituents. Macias then asked members, “What are you standing for? What do we, as an organization, stand for? What is worth standing for? What is it that every person in this room should be standing for?” Music faded in and a powerful video from the newly re-launched NAHREP.org site took shape on the enormous screen at front of the room. Member stood mesmerized as “NO ONE EVER DREAMS OF BEING A RENTER” faded from the screen.
